Elena Kempi

Elena Kempi is a senior lecturer at the Department of Forest Complex Technology and Landscape Architecture, Institute of Forest, Mining and Construction Sciences, Petrozavodsk State University, where she is also a PhD student.

Her research interests cover the growth and development patterns of forest undergrowth, natural and artificial reforestation and forest seed production in Russia, and phytopathogenic organisms and the diseases they cause in urban trees—including the part human pressure plays in how city plantings grow and survive.

Her current research analyses the composition and condition of native and introduced dendroflora in the cities of the European North of Russia, mapping and assessing urban tree stands with GIS.
