   Alexander Sergunin (b. 1960) is a Professor of International Relations at St. Petersburg State University and Director of the Center for Arctic Studies & Projects at the Russian Academy of National Economy & Public Administration. 
    He graduated from Nizhny Novgorod State University in 1982, earned his Ph.D. in History from Moscow State University in 1985, and completed his Habilitation in Political Science at St. Petersburg State University in 1994. 
    Prof. Sergunin has authored and co-authored more than 700 research monographs, textbooks, articles, and analytical papers on Arctic politics, Russian foreign policy thinking and making, and U.S.-Russian and EU-Russian relations.
